Vicinity Centres has recently announced a $2b mixed use redevelopment at the heart of Box Hill. The overall masterplan includes a total of 7 towers on the 5.5 hectare site, making it one of Victoria’s largest private urban regeneration projects.

The concept design for Stage 1 is now complete, which will include a 42,000m2 commercial office building and a 48 level 366 apartment residential tower.

Andrew Borthwick, who has been personally involved in the project, commented that “One of the most impressive elements of the development is the public open space that will be used by the whole local community of Box Hill. This space will open up the heart of the city creating new connections between the transport, shopping, education, and health hubs of Box Hill. As well as providing recreational space and facilities for everyday use. I’m very proud to be working with the Vicinity Centres team of Truman Dare, David Waldren, Peter Funder, and Ruth Rughoobur on this exciting project.

Essence Project Management has been working as an integrated part of the Vicinity development team providing development and project management support on the project.
