Mark Moran Warrawee

A 104-bed aged care facility in Warrawee.

Mark Moran Warrawee features 104 aged care suites with private balconies, luxurious gardens, a cinema, a café, an SPA pool, a cinema, AI/VR, a gym, basement car parking, a commercial kitchen & laundry and other operational support facilities. The development won Facility of the Year – Assisted Living, at the Aging Asia Eldercare Innovation Awards 2022.

Consisting of two four-storey, three-level basement buildings connected by breezeways on each storey the facility is built on a steep slope. Integrated into the build is sustainable energy generation using solar panels, energy-saving fittings and building management and communications through a GPON solution.

The project had many challenges as it fronts the highly trafficable Pacific Highway. Hazardous materials were required to be carefully contained and disposed of prior to and during construction.

Our role

Essence led the team from the planning and approvals phase – including change of use and changes to the development plan, through the contractor procurement, detailed design phase and into construction.
