The key objectives of the development are to enhance Chatswood Chase Sydney’s reputation as the centre of significance, create an environment reflective of its trade area and provide a point of difference to cater for the retail and lifestyle aspirations of the local community and wider catchment.

Through the amalgamation of three lots within the Chatswood City Centre, the development proposal for Chatswood Chase will add approximately 35,000 sqm GLA and an additional 783 car parking spaces to the centre.

The Main Scheme project is the re-development of the Ground Floor to Level 3 of Chatswood Chase, The project is made up of retail and commercial components including mall lines, void changes, new tenancies throughout, upgraded vertical transport, services capacity landscaping & finishes works.

The lower ground development

The Chatswood Chase lower ground development remix combines a total of sixty-seven (67) existing tenancies, to be reorientated allowing better orientation of pedestrian areas within the existing mall. Following the completion of works, the new lower ground area will have two key zones: a fresh food area, and a food court.

The fresh food area will contain some familiar names from the existing mall, whilst also introducing new greengrocers, and other new tenancies to cater for the local community, as well as a wider audience. Similarly, the fresh food area will present a number of high-end food retailers, whilst also integrating key areas of furniture, allowing family, friends, and individuals to maximise their enjoyment whilst within the centre.

Our role

Essence was appointed the project manager for the development approval process and schematic design development of the main scheme.
