The hospital development on the corner site of Cotham Road and Adeney Avenue Kew is Australia’s first gap-free short-stay hospital. With a complex stakeholder structure spanning three states, the project is developed by Centuria and the hospital will be managed by a Joint Venture between Medibank and Adeney Private Hospital (a conglomerate of 42 high-calibre specialist doctors).

The new hospital will provide short-stay surgery and day procedures with a focus on best-in-class clinical care and outcomes as well as an exceptional patient experience. Services include orthopaedics, paediatrics, oncology, ENT, vascular, plastics, oncology, general surgery, gastroenterology, anaesthetics and radiology. The facility will offer four operating theatres, one procedure room, 30 overnight beds, a 12-chair chemotherapy infusion centre, and a 2-level, 78-car basement car park.

Our role

As project manager and superintendent, Essence is managing the design team, the stakeholder engagement and communications and the construction of the new hospital.
