The transformation of Blackwattle Bay to provide a contemporary world-class fish market experience.

The redevelopment will include expanded waterfront retail spaces providing diversified retail/gastronomic offerings, wholesale and vertical fish auction facilities, commercial office space, a new Sydney Seafood School, car-parking, improved transport links, activated public realm, visitor experience zone, and a new wharf and berthing facilities.

Our role

Essence’s role as client representative is to provide leadership and direction for the client. This includes leading the functional brief requirements, delivery agreement arrangements, stakeholder consultation, commercial negotiations, representation on evaluation processes for design consultant engagements and overall project oversight and advice, for the Agreement for Lease between SFM and Infrastructure NSW (iNSW).

Essence continues to provide leadership and direction during the design and delivery phase of this project. Multiplex is engaged by INSW to deliver the facility for occupation and handover in 2025.
