Victorian Academy of Teaching & Leadership Academies (VATL) is the professional development arm of the Department of Education (DET) that provides high-quality and evidence-based professional learning to Victorian educators.

The fitout has state-of-the-art IT and digital learning capabilities and high-quality FF&E that supports the pedagogical requirements of the practitioners and reflects the prestigious nature of the Academy. The design has inherent adaptability, with spaces that can support a range of learning settings, including individual learning, small group collaboration, large group/lecture settings, and remote learning.

The central academy delivered in the Treasury Precinct has been followed by seven other regional academies. They will also offer the Teaching Excellence Program, supporting teachers to advance their profession, with access to the best research in the science of learning and discipline-based content knowledge.

The project recently won the ‘2022 Ministers Award’ at the 2022 Victorian School Design Awards.
