The upscale 182-room hotel is located adjacent to the King Street Wharf dining precinct, moments from the Barangaroo waterfront precinct. The project was delivered via an Early Works demolition phase and a main works D&C phase.
This project marked M&L’s second hotel redevelopment in Sydney CBD having recently completed 161 Sussex Street, now a Hyatt Regency, with the assistance and guidance from Essence Director, James Joy.
Our role
Essence was engaged to lead M&L and Multiplex in delivering the main works on time and on budget. The construction program targeted for just 12 months is ambitious, particularly given the complex façade system – a distinctive geometric facade with 333 individual panels of glass, the first of its kind in Australia.
Essence continued to provide strategic advice to M&L, and oversight on Multiplex to ensure the construction process runs efficiently and according to the program.
