The Haven House South Dowling project, led by the Property Industry Foundation, aims to redevelop a site in Surry Hills into a 10-apartment residential building for homeless youth, operated by The Salvation Army. The building will feature 9 two-bedroom apartments, 1 studio apartment, and communal facilities, including a hot desk area, kitchen, meeting rooms, and a rooftop terrace.

The goal is to provide a safe, supportive living environment for homeless youth, offering access to essential programs and services. Key objectives include delivering the project on time and within budget, ensuring quality design and construction, and coordinating approvals and stakeholder engagement to support the project’s success.

Essence’s role as project manager involves coordinating the design team and contractor, overseeing the project’s program and budget, and managing the entire project lifecycle from concept design to handover. This includes handling authority approvals, design development, tendering, and construction phases to ensure the successful delivery of Haven House South Dowling.
