Essence managed the flood recovery works for Tasman’s Moama & Merool holiday parks on the Murray River, severely impacted by the 2022 floods. The project focused on replacing and refurbishing accommodation, communal facilities, landscaping, and levee bank restoration, with a key emphasis on flood mitigation strategies for future resilience.

The key objectives included delivering the recovery works within a constrained program, factoring in the budget from the maximum insurance claim, and meeting the pre-Christmas deadline to regenerate revenue. Additionally, we aimed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the parks through flood-proofing strategies.

Essence provided project management services across two sites, including contractor engagement, cost management, scheduling, and coordination of the flood recovery works. We ensured timely completion by managing local contractor availability, meeting the project’s deadlines, and addressing unique challenges posed by the seasonal nature of the work.
